Fitness Journey

I have really been working hard to get myself into a decently strict workout routine. I used to be fairly fit and very active. I did ballet for 12 years and the last 4 years or so I was doing it 5 days a week. It was pretty cray and then I stopped because I moved. I couldn’t just do nothing! So, I joined the swim team. I also started going to the gym with my friend. It was really good and definitely kept me in great shape. I was, for sure, in the best shape of my life (I was also in high school, so definitely not a good comparison.) After I moved to Orlando for college I kinda stopped working out a little. I would go to the gym at the apartment complex I lived in. I would go a couple of times a week, then I would skip a week or two. So, I was really not consistent. After a few months, I got into a really good routine and was working out at least 4 times a week. Then my dad died.

That was 2014. Since then, I really haven’t worked out at all. I would start working out and stay consistent for about two weeks, but then I would stop. I couldn’t stick with it. I was really depressed and never wanted to do anything. It was a really low point in my life. Amazing and wonderful things were happening, but deep down I couldn’t shake the fact that I wasn’t happy in my core.

Fast forward to the end of 2015. I started working out. I was using the Nike app and it was really good. It would remind me every day, and that helped a lot! I fell out of that practice again, though. I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to stick with it, but it has.

I finally started working out and eating better. I started this probably two weeks ago. I know I haven’t been doing it for too long and it isn’t a habit yet, but it’s almost there and so close to becoming a really great habit.

Let’s talk about the food part. I definitely don’t eat perfectly. I eat pasta and cheese and some chips here and there, but overall I am eating much better. I incorporate a lot of fruit and some veggies. I tend to skip breakfast a lot, so I’ve been drinking Premier Protein Shakes. They really aren’t that good, but they aren’t the worst I’ve had…I’ll do a whole post soon on what supplements I use and more details about food. Let me know if you want to see any recipes or anything!

I’m going to post really soon on the workouts I’m doing currently. I really don’t do the same thing every day. I would get bored so fast if I had to do the same exact thing every. single. day.

I just wanted to kinda do a little background on what I am doing now, and what brought me here. This is my fitness journey so far and I am so proud of where I am. Life has taken me on a crazy rollercoaster and I’m just here to document what’s happenin’ in my everyday life.
